Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Darrien: Smart, Physical, Relentless.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Darrien: Since I’ve signed with my agent, he has provided me with my own personal trainer to get me in shape and ready for my pro day and draft.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Darrien: If I could compare myself to one NFL player, it would be Rodney Hudson of the Oakland Raiders. My reason being, he was considered as being “undersized” for his position as well. Also, because he plays extremely smart and physical.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Darrien: Since I play center, I’m expected to know just about everything about the opposing defense. The first thing I look for is defensive tendencies on first, second, and third down in whichever formations we are lined up in on offense. By doing that, it allows me to get a grasp of what defense we’re going to see. The next thing I look for is different stunts and blitzes and on what downs they occur. The last thing I look for is the defensive linemen’s favorite moves.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Darrien: I think a big thing that separates me from other players at my position is my passion and emotion for the game, along with my athleticism and smarts.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Darrien: The kind of abilities that I think will stand out are my leadership abilities, my abilities to be a coachable player, and my technique.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Darrien: My final pitch would sound something like this; I’m a guy that loves the game of football and will do whatever is needed to succeed. Whatever it takes on and off the field, I will do it.
