Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My biggest goal heading into my final season was to make an impact in every single game this year to help my team be successful. Although our team wasn’t as successful as we had hoped for, I believe that I accomplished my goal of impacting the team positively and helping to set a foundation for future success.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Smooth, Smart, and Physical.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I am currently on a 5 day a week workout regiment preparing myself for my upcoming pro days around March. I have also already played in the National Bowl and am preparing for the Tropical Bowl this weekend, so that has really kept me in playing shape since my season has ended. I am really making sure to stay in the best shape of my life, so I am prepared for any opportunities that come my way.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
The main things I key on when watching film are watching the O-line to see if they give away pass/run plays based on stance, if the Quarterback stares down his Receivers, what routes are ran out of specific formations, and Running Back alignments and how it correlates to the run game.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
The thing that separates me is my versatility. On defense I played both Free Safety and Strong Safety, Nickelback and Dime, and a hybrid Linebacker. I love to play special teams because it’s another opportunity to make plays and help the team to win. I was on the punt team, blocked punts, punt returned, kick returned, been a blocker on kick return, and have been on kickoff. Also, in high school, I played Cornerback, so I have that in my background as well.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I think the biggest thing I bring is my work ethic and competitiveness. I have been overlooked my whole life and just keep using it as motivation to continue to try and prove people wrong. I am super competitive in everything and believe that it makes the people around me better.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
All I am hoping for is the opportunity to showcase my talents and prove that I can play at the highest level, whether it be NFL, CFL, or AFL. They say all it takes is to just catch 1 scout or GM’s eye and I am just working my tail off everyday to be able to accomplish that.
