What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

National championship. That was my main focus coming into the season after being runner up in 2019. I Did everything I could for my team to reach that goal. It was a team goal, team mission and it didn’t go as expected. Personally I’ve accomplish many personal goals such as being selected to the AFCA ALL-AMERICAN team. Becoming a First-Team All Conference performer for the second time in my career and being a nominee for the Cliff Harris Award – given to the best small school defensive player of the year! That award is announced on Jan 14, 2022.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

The extra year has really help me advance and develop my game. I believe I became a better player and performer on and off the field. I feel like it has matured me into a great young man that has the potential to keep growing. I’ve gotten bigger faster and stronger than the previous year and it showed on field. Really helped my chances to getting to the next level.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

That I’m a leader who leads by example on and off the field . My head coach Todd Hoffner quotes “Proud of the Journey made by @TyShonan_Brooks progressing from a young man to a grown man. In addition to his exceptional performances, Ty is an excellent leader amongst his teammates.“

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I study every WR movements off the line, routes, alignment, and how they attack the ball. I also look at the QB 3 and 5 step progression. I do these things so I can pick up on tendencies – they never lie and it’s how I make great plays. I know it’s coming before it comes.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I’m very versatile. I can play anything special teams. I’m not only a cornerback. I’m an athlete, I return kicks and I also played WR sometimes throughout my life career. I can play multiple positions on the field and excel at them all.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I’m working out at the Training Haus with the great performance Bill Welle.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I’m not a list guy. I will bring nothing negative to the team in any way. I will come everyday to get better, motivate others, and bring a positive attitude. Im on a team to win a championship, simple as that. When I get a chance I like to help others off the field as well. Such as charity events and getting involved with the team fans in a positive way.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I have speed. I will use my speed to my advantage and I’m ready to do this and be GREAT at it. I will never get complacent. I always want and need more. Not just for myself but for the entire ORGANIZATION . Whoever takes a chance on me. You will not regret it. You’re getting a DUDE.
