Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Conference Champions, Playoffs, team leading tackler.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Physical, reliable, playmaker.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
School Facility.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
I look for guys that stand out. Does the quarterback have favorite receivers he likes to target on certain downs. Are there certain formations they like to run on 3rd downs. Does the receiver only burst off the ball on pass plays vs run. How does the receiver run his route if he’s involved in the play vs. if he is just a decoy.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
What separates me from other players is my versatility. I can cover from hash to hash. I can step down and play in the box, I can come downhill on the run. I can guard those big TEs. I have a knack for the ball, whether it’s making an interception, fumble, or making the tackle and being around the ball carrier.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Strength and abilities I will bring to the team is leading by my actions. Throughout college, I’ve always prided myself on not having off the field issues, not being a negative distraction and I credit that to my parent’s for being tough on me. I also play Punt Returner. Takes a lot of guts to get back there deep and trusting your teammates have your back. I take pride in special teams all together. Games are won and lost on special teams! Muffed snap, blocked kick, returned kick for a touchdown are few ways the excitement of the game can change. It takes special players to play on special teams and I don’t think a lot of people realize that.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
My final pitch to the NFL and other pro scouts would be to take a chance on me. I’m the type of guy to lead by example. I have proven that throughout my career. I know when to separate myself from certain individuals. Also, I’m not a liability and I am an exciting player to watch! I put in the work and it shows on my film.
