Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My personal goal was to improve on the things I didn’t do as well in during my previous seasons. Mastering things that require no talent.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Tough, Exciting, Disciplined.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I’m now training at Crossfit209 in Stockton, California with trainers Vince Carter and Chad the foot doctor. I train and dedicate copious amounts of time and energy into each training session. These training sessions take place 5 times a week, for a period of 2 hours. During these sessions, I have been and continued to work on being faster, stronger, more mobile, and even more flexible than I already am. In addition to this, I am consistently working on defensive back fundamentals.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Studying film is part of being a strategic player, so when watching film, I like to be attentive to who their best individual players are and attentively analyze their style of play. In addition to this, I look at what the other teams do on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th down, which are also key components to the outcome of the game. I look for the QB cadence so I can determine how to disguise a coverage and strategically maneuver my way around or through the QB.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I am extremely flexible when it comes to where I am able to play on defense. I am a leader, who is driven, dedicated, and strategic about the way I play and as well as my team plays. I play with unwavering effort every down. I am fundamentally versed in the way I play and continue to do my best in order to make sure that I am always pushing myself to be the absolute best player for myself and for the success of my team.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I will bring excitement and unwavering support to my teammates, as well as make big plays in big time situations. Also, I will bring toughness and swagger!
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Any team that is willing to take me will get a guy that is extremely driven and will do whatever it takes to get the job done. I love and respect the game and bring effort everyday and always want to improve my game and work hard.
