Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My main goal was to win the national championship, in 2015 we lost in the national championship, 2016 we lost in the final 4. Some other goals were to break the sack record at Shepherd University as well as being named Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Explosive, Relentless, and Determined.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I’ll be training as a linebacker with ETC.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When I watch film, I always break down a team’s top formations and top plays out of those formations. I look for run/pass tendencies in the Offensive Line and backfield as well as down and distance play calling tendencies. After I break down top plays, formations, and tendencies, I usually study the Offensive Line to spot the weak links.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
What separates me is that I have the ability to rush the passer and stop the run effectively. Within the past two seasons, I’ve had 26.5 Sacks and 44 TFLs along with 8 Forced Fumbles. Also, my film study, I’m able to know what play is coming based off your formation.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I will bring forth relentless pass rush and pursuit to the football. I’m hungry to force turnovers and get the ball to the offense. Off the field while at Shepherd, I was involved with various on campus organizations and also was very active within the community.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I am a passionate football player who loves to play this game. I bring energy and I’m not afraid to set the tone. I bring forth relentless effort on the field in my pass rush and run stop. I create turnovers and get the ball back to the offense. Not only can I contribute on defense, but also on special teams. I am a team leader. I was voted team captain my junior and senior season. I’m also very productive outside of football as I was named a 2X Academic All-American. I’m very active with the youth in my community.
