What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I set the goals to be an all conference player, to be an elite factor on defense, and also have my best year yet. All which I accomplished as I earned Second Team All-Conference. Also leading my team in pass breakups, passes defended, and interceptions.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I was truly able to put everything I had learned and worked on the offseason to prepare me to play to my best ability. Working nonstop on technique, speed, and ball skills. As in the 2019 season I had no conference honors and our team didn’t finish as well as we hoped. Then in 2021 there was a complete shift as we had our best season in a decade and I was noticed as one of the best safeties in Conference.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

That I am a very physical player, a great teammate, I have fun when I’m either in game or practicing, finishes, very competitive, and works harder than anyone.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

Things that I focus on are the tendencies that teams like to run from certain down and distances. What tendencies they like to go to depending where they are on the field. Redzone plays they like to run. If there are any plays they like to run on certain downs. Also, I like to see who their favorite go to guys and what are the routes which they try to get the ball to those guys on. Then I scout the players as to what are their moves to get to a route, to a position, how they try to gain leverage of the route over a defensive back. If their tempo changes when they know the ball isn’t coming to them. Who is the quarterback’s favorite target on third down and in the red zone. Also, after I analyze all of the tendencies and the players I like to go through the plays and see how I should play each route to put me in a position to make a play on the ball and what I would’ve done differently than a different defensive back that was covering a wide receiver. This all helps me be confident and play fast.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I am extremely competitive. I work hard nonstop and am willing to learn anything to improve my game. I am very great at both man coverage as I had to cover slot receivers all year as cover 1 was our man coverage that we ran. Also I am very good at zone coverage as I cover a lot of range and am capable of covering from hash to sideline. I am very physical as I am very capable to tackle any back of any size and very great at block shedding. I am good at owning my leverage and also making the play. I am not anywhere near my full potential as I know I will continue to improve my talents.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I plan to train as hard as I can in the hopes of getting a bowl game invite to showcase my talents. Then hopefully being able to play at the next level and prove that I can compete.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am very mentally strong as I am very capable of turning around from a bad play to then creating a turnover. I’ve never been one intimidated by adversity as I’m willing to push through any challenge I’m given. Capable of motivating my teammates and being a spark plug that pushes others to wanna be better.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I am able to play either free or strong safety as I have the speed to cover the field and play man to man coverage. I also have the ability to be a force in the run game. I am very capable of playing the nickel position by being a force on the edge covering the flats while being able to be in man coverage. I am a very versatile player that can bring a lot of talents and ability to any team. I am willing to be a sponge and learn anything to improve my game. All I need is a chance to showcase my abilities.
