Q: In your final collegiate season, what goals did you accomplish this fall or set for this upcoming spring?
I wanted our defense to be top 5 in the country for total defense as it has been in years past. We finished the season #1 in total defense.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
Fast and physical linebacker that can make plays all over the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
Opportunities to force fumbles in the run game, putting myself in the right position to defend routes/intercept the ball in the pass game, and understanding what play might be coming from whoever is lined up across from us based on formation, personnel, etc.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My ability to read keys, see the football, and make plays all over the field regardless of run or pass.
Q: What is your plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities, especially with the virus limiting pro days/training facilities/etc?
The virus might be a small bump in the road, but I’m not going to let that stop me from training hard and giving myself the best chance to showcase my abilities when the time comes. My plan right now is to not let any distractions influence the way I eat, sleep, and train.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
As a teammate I value passion for the game and reliability. Regardless of the circumstances if someone cares enough about the game they won’t let anything stop them from being the best they can be on the field. I am going to be reliable as a leader on and off the field, doing the right thing and being an example for the guys around me to follow.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL/CFL or any other professional leagues?
When you put it all together I’m a playmaker all over the field that will work as hard as possible to achieve success and I won’t just be focused on myself, I want everyone around me all throughout the organization to be successful.
