What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

One of the goals I set this year was to do more damage on the ground with my legs to help the offense keep drives moving. I try and pride myself on being a playmaker, especially when the opposing defense isn’t giving up many easy opportunities.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

The extra year of eligibility was huge for me. I was able to spend a considerable amount of time with my position coach, former NFL QB Matt Baker, and learn from him in all facets of the game. He was new to JCU right before the pandemic started.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My teammates and coaches would say I am guy that you could always depend on and someone that would come through especially when needed the most. Being selected as a team captain this past year is one of the things I am most proud of.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, I really try to break down the mannerisms of opposing defenders to try and get an edge. Throughout the week, if I can gain little clues as to what the defense is doing early it will help me tremendously. When looking at myself on film, I really try to focus on my footwork in the pocket and in the run game.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

One thing that separates me is that I’ve played for multiple coaches in multiple different systems. I am someone that will pick up the offense quickly and be able to run multiple schemes. Athletically, I am a dual threat player that can succeed both through the air and on the ground.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I am currently training daily and getting my body ready for the next level. I’m also playing in a senior bowl in January.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a leader on and off the field and will be able to lead an offense at the next level. I’m consistently a guy that will stay late to get extra mental and physical work, and bring teammates along with me. On the field, I’m an athletic player that’s able to extend plays and make plays on his feet, all while being able to pass from the pocket.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I know any team that gives me a shot will not regret taking a chance on me. I will be a guy that comes in to win games, like I have being doing throughout my entire career playing football.
