Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
In my last collegiate season I took the time focus on more of my fundamentals and more position specific goals to help enhance my skills as a safety. One of the main goals I dedicated myself to was forcing more turnovers. Overall during my last season, I was successful in increasing the number of turnovers by some interceptions.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
The extra year of eligibility gave me the opportunity to better my fundamentals and increase my overall strength that will help me at the next level. The extra year helped me prepare mentally and physically for the final year and for what comes next.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
Some words my past coaches and teammates would use to describe the type of player I am would be disciplined, focused, dedicated, passionate, knowledable and coachable. I am extremely knowledgable about the game especially when it comes to working with offensive schemes. They would also probably mention my love for the physical contact that football brings, as well as my attentiveness which helps me to be a ball magnet.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch film there are a lot of details the pay attention to such has knowing the situation of the game in the specific clip. Knowing what down it is or the time on the clock helops to understand and figure out what should have been done. When I am watching film I also make sure I am focusing on the things I need to fix personally and focus on what I did and what I can do to improve that play for my next games. I think it is extremely improtwnt to be able to take responsibility for your own mistakes while going through film and being able to acknowledge those mistakes and how to fix it is very important. When I am watching film to prepare for a game, I focus on the offensive tendencies wether thats the snap count, motions or player specific plays.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I believe my love for the game separates me from other prospects. I have dedicated my entire life for the game of football because the joy it brings me. I have taken the time to truly understand the ins and outs of the game in order to improve my knowledge for football.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
During my offseason I plan to train with other NFL athletes in order to help build that foundation so I sm prepared for wha tis to come next. Training with other NFL athletes gives me the opportunity to enhances my skills and see what the NFL does to enhance their skills. I also plan to train with a variety of DB coaches to help enhance my knowledge of the game and get different outlooks on the training for my specific position.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My coachable attitude would be helpful for my coaches and my teammates. My coachable attitude and my drive to help others around me grow will be extremely helpful for my teammates. When I join a team, i not only invest in myself but I also invest in my teammates. My ability to adapt in any situation would help me as i join a new team and begin to learn their values and as I enter into the new season I will be ready for any situation. Another strength of mine that would that I would bring to the field would be hard work and dedication. Clutch.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I have been playing football since I was a little kid and it has always been my dream to play in the NFL and now I have the ability to make that dream a reality. My unconditional love for the game encourages me to push myself every day and encourages teammates around me. I will bring a positive attitude and adaptive mindset that will help set whatever team i join up for success. If you pick me to play for your organization, I will bring my all every day and I will continue to show my love for the game through my hard work and dedication.
