Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My performance goals for this season was to finish with 50 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. I remember when I wrote them out during fall camp. I finished with 49, 2, and 7 so I came up short. Another goal I had set was to become a better Defensive Back mentally as far as watching film and knowing the defense and I feel like that is a goal that I was successful in meeting.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I am hardworking with a high work ethic. I refuse to fall short and will stop at nothing to be successful.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch film I like to focus on tendencies, so that come game time when I see a certain formation, I can already have an idea of what is coming. When watching film on myself I like to look at footwork and reads that I took that put me out of position so that I won’t make that mistake again.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I am a complete defensive back. I am not just a corner, or a safety, or a nickel. I can play every position in the defensive backfield well and produce.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
During the off-season I plan on focusing on improving my footwork and speed. I plan on training with some of my former teammates to better prepare for the upcoming opportunities.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I feel like the thing that shows the most is my work ethic. That is the first thing that people tell me that they notice. I always want to put myself in a position to be successful and that’s both on and off the field.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
You may have not heard much about me, but choosing me to be a part of your organization will be the best decision that you have made. I will bring both the tangible and intangibles to the organization that you look for. I understand the importance of every phase of the game from offense to defense and even special teams. Give me a shot and I will not let you down.
This journey was far from easy…
