Codie Bell: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview
Name: Codie Bell
School: Central Missouri
What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
To win another conference championship was my main goal. I also had some all conference and academic all American awards which were nice, but I really wanted to have an impact on the younger DBs and provide them with tools and knowledge to continue to grow and get better.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
The extra year gave me additional time to watch film and really learn the game. I really focused on learning the box. Understanding d line and linebacker responsibilities.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say I’m a leader, I play fast, relentless and play bigger than I am.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film I look at tendencies. Whether its formation or player specific. Trying to gain any edge I can.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me is my understanding of the game and versatility. Being able to play multiple positions. Knowing and understanding how offenses are going to attack certain defenses.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My off-season plan is going to consist of training for pro day and continuing to study and grow. Pushing myself to be the best player I can be.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Speed and play recognition will be my biggest asset, but I will bring a lot of passion and true love for the game. Contagious energy. There’s not a guy in the 2022 draft class that will commit more time or effort trying to be successful.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I’m not 6’2 and not from a power 5, but if any team is looking for somebody that will do his job, make plays, and lay it on the line every play. Then I’m your guy.
