Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

I wanted to be all conference again, All-American, conference champion, defensive player of the year, and national champion. I was not able to get a shot at the National Championship though.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

They would say to not be fooled because I look undersized on paper. I play big and physical. My biggest strength is my IQ. Throughout my college career, I had to learn to command the entire defense and run the show. I am a natural born leader, and my play can back that up. I am a coach’s dream because I am very smart and savvy on the field.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I take the film room very seriously. I analyze almost everything about my opponents. I study their tendencies, their steps, how they run routes, what they do from their different formations, and more. I run through every play and run every defensive call we have against every play, so I know exactly how things should unfold. This gives me an advantage in the games because I have a better idea of what I am getting. This allows me to play faster and make more plays.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I am different because not only am I mentally ahead of everyone I am lining up against, but I pride myself on having great technique. I have formed a habit of having clean breaks, great transition, and great hands. I am also very versatile. Whether a coach needs me at safety, corner, or nickelback, I am more than capable and ready to excel. There are not many players that can do what I do.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will be graduating in May, so I have another semester left of school, so I will do a lot of training at Furman. I will however make time to get back to my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee and train with my trainer Lamont Ramsey in his training facility with his group called Ramsey Performance Training. He is one of the best in the country, so I’m blessed to be able to train with him any time I get.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a team player and I will do whatever I need to do to help the team win. I am hardworking and I always do what I need to do to win. I am honest, smart, and supportive. My skillset and talent would benefit any team that needs a big time playmaker in their secondary. I also am very accountable on and off the field. You can always count on me doing what I am supposed to do all the time. I am also a competitor, which allows me to bring out the competition in my teammates.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

You want me on your team because I have qualities that are hard to come by. I am hardworking, accountable, honest, intelligent, a leader, and a playmaker all in one. All I need is an opportunity to show what I am capable of. I am certain after you see me go toe to toe with the best of the best that you will believe in me too.
