What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
A goal of mine this past season was to win the conference championship. It’s a standard we set for ourselves every season. Although we came up short, we were able to beat the 3 best teams in the conference. It felt good knowing we were able to play at a championship level against the best teams in the conference.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
While I still have one more year of eligibility, I decided not to use it. After this season, I had the confidence to forego my final year of eligibility and felt I was ready to make the jump to the next level.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say I am a player who shows great leadership and great character. I play this game with a love and a passion that goes unmatched. I am a player who is always trying to raise the play of all of those around me.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I am always looking for ways that I can improve within our scheme and ways that I can improve in my technique. Making the smallest adjustments can put you in a better position to make game changing plays.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I am a very versatile player. I can play in coverage and I can also be effective in the box. Additionally, I am a player who can learn quickly and adapt to whatever scheme I am asked to play in.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plan is to refine my technique and stay in the best shape possible so I am ready when I am called upon. I’ll continue to prepare and train so that I am ready for the increase in speed and talent at the next level.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My knowledge of the game is something that will immediately stand out. I am a great competitor but I am always looking to make those around me better as well. My work ethic and my willingness to improve will not go unnoticed.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Any team that takes a chance on me is going to get someone who will make the most of their opportunities. Having played high school football in Canada to playing Division II in college, I have always had a chip on my shoulder. That chip on my shoulder has always pushed me to be my best and that chip on my shoulder will continue to push me at the next level as well.
