Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
As a senior I led my team in sacks and I was second in the conference in sacks. I also achieved All-Conference honors. My proudest accomplishment was being named a captain and achieving the best record in school history 8-2.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
My coaches would say that I am a true student of the game. I am constantly in the field house watching film or working out. Willing to learn and not only help myself get better but also my teammates.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
For practice and post game analysis: I always look at the small things like hand placement or steps in my own play. I would try to analyze where my eyes were and where they should have been. Pre-game analysis: I look at what other players similar to me did against certain opponents and what my opponents tendencies are during games. Such small tells in their play and foot work against certain alignments.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
My versatility and athleticism. Also the work I’m willing to put in before competition. I believe that I can beat anyone I step in front of no matter competition level.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I workout 4 times a week in the gym to improve my body. I also do drills and work on my feet as if I have a game tomorrow.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My maturity level I feel is one of my biggest attributes, and my ability to take harsh criticism and learn from it. Also I’m persistent and humble because nothing has come easy for me and I don’t expect them to get any easier so that’s why I work so hard on whatever I’m doing.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
My life is football. I couldn’t think of any aspect of my life that I wouldn’t want football to be apart of. Ever since I picked up a football I knew for a fact this was a dream I have to make a reality. So with choosing me you would be receiving a player that is going to constantly give his all to the game and his team.
