Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches would say I am an intellectual football player that was a leader of the offense. They have all acknowledged how hard I work, how reliable I am, and that I am a versatile and a hard-nosed football player. They all loved that I brought a lot of experience and knowledge to their team in my last season.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

While studying film, I look for any tendencies or tips that the defense shows to gain an advantage to myself and the offense as a whole. I like to look at what types of players they have, how they tackle, how they react to certain situations in a game, and what types of schemes they run. This all helps improve my game because I know what skill sets I would utilize to perform well in the game. It also helps me understand where I can expect certain blocks to occur or where defensemen tend to fill gaps so I can be more prepared with my cuts, blocking schemes for the week, and how to beat certain one on ones depending on the opposing player being studied.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My resilience, work ethic, and being a student of the game, all separates me from other pro prospects at my position. Even after all the adversity I faced in my life, I stayed determined and never lost focus of my goals. With my 3.71 GPA, I am able to quickly learn new plays and schemes as I also take pride in how hard I prepare myself for every opportunity. I am an every-down back who does the extra things to improve my abilities. My versatility and vision allow me to go through, around, or over defenders while being utilized in the running, passing, and blocking schemes.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I have already started training and preparing for professional opportunities, but I am still undecided on which facility and professional trainer(s) I will use throughout the process.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field, I will bring an aggressive type of running style to an offense. I have proved to be an every-down back that can be fed over and over in order to get tough yards and scores. I have quick cuts that allow me to get north quickly and my vision allows me to gain an edge on defenders by setting them up for my next move and reading out a defense pre-snap. I also am stout in pass protection and can be relied on as a leader in clutch situations. Off the field, I hope to be able to contribute to community events for my team’s city and donate and raise awareness for breast cancer. I was personally impacted from breast cancer from my grandmother and close family friends, so giving back has always been a dream of mine.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

There is no athlete in the world that is more passionate, determined to fulfill their lifelong dream, and wants to positively impact a team than Tyler Hoosman. All I need is an opportunity.
