Name: Tyler Guice
School: Texas A&M-Commerce
Position: TE
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 252
Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I had 3 main goals Set for this season. 1st) I wanted to be a good leader for my team. 2nd) I wanted to have at least 5 touchdown and I finished with more. 3rd) I wanted to win the National championship, we came short losing in the 3rd round but we still accomplished a lot of great things as a team.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I believe they would say ima hard worker that likes to bring the fun out of situations. They know I put the team first and want to win more than anything else. My stats weren’t my mine focus, winning a natty was.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m watching film, I study my opponents and pick out their tendencies and flaws. I do this so I know what to expect when they are guarding me on a route.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me is I’m the perfect hybrid TE, I can do it all and what ever my team needs at the time. I can line up anywhere and it will be a mismatch I’m a 6’3 250 TE, FB, slot WR, and outside WR. I love blocking just as much as I do catching.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My offseason plan is to continue to work out on my strength and speed. Which ever team that takes a chance on me I want to come in and make an impact immediately.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My strength would be the fact that I can start with my hand in the dirt and be a great blocker. And my ability to move around the field and play FB or WR would help.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL/CFL or any other pro leagues?
I know I’m not coming from any of these big D1 schools, but my school (Texas A&M commerce) is a well respected school with great athletes who can make plays at a D1 level and the pro level. I said that to say this, if there was a combine for just the Tight Ends that are coming out in this 2020 draft from every division regardless D1, D2,D3 or NAIA. Where they would test us and see us run routes and block, I would finish ahead of a lot of these players that were at the combine or that might get drafted. I just don’t want to be over looked because of my division and the fact that “COVID 19” stopped our pro day from happening doesn’t help my chances either. I just need to get my foot in the door with one opportunity and I would show people what they looked over.
