Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
The goal I wanted to achieve more than anything, was to end my senior season with a winning record. But unfortunately, we only won one game. Extremely disappointing way our season turned out.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
They would say I am a hardworking player who loves to play the game.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
Watching film is one of the most important aspects of the game. When I watch film on myself, I look to see if I’m taking the correct steps, hand placement, pad level, and most importantly, my effort. When I watch other teams, I usually watch the offensive line. I look at their depth, see if they look at where/who they’re blocking, formations and plays the opposing teams likes to run out of.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
My versatility is what separates me from most. I can play the run, I can rush the quarterback, I can even drop in to coverage. Overall, I can play in many different defensive schemes.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Training is my favorite part of the game. There is nothing I enjoy more than lifting, speed training, field work, and film study. But this off season, I have been mostly focusing on lower body explosion and core strength.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My willingness to work hard and my leadership quality. I love to challenge and push my teammates to be the best they can be.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I haven’t been playing the game of football that long. From never playing high school football, to walking on at one of the best JUCO’s in the nation, to being a 3-year starter, it’s been a long road, but I know for sure I’m only scratching the surface of what I can ultimately become. I will play and perfect my craft at any position I am put to play at. And most importantly, I will outwork anybody to get to where I want to be.
