What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My goals included earning my Masters degree in business administration, being an all-conference player, being a leader on and off the field and simply having fun.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I took advantage of my extra year by developing my skills to become not only a pass rusher but an outside backer as well. Staying the extra year helped me become familiar and comfortable with dropping into pass coverages making me more of a versatile player.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would say I’m a hard worker, student of the game, and never satisfied. They would comment that I would be self-critical of myself. Because there is always room for improvement, and I would take notes on what I could do better. They noticed that I came in every morning early to get a jump on preparations on our opponents as well as stay after practice to develop more skills that I could utilize in the game.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on certain keys such as offensive lineman, running back alignments as well as offensive formations. I analyze the offensive lineman to analyze if it’s a run or pass key from body position, eyes, or even weight in the hands. Analyzing the formations of the opponents teams to determine their favorite plays and the percentages of each one. As well as the running back alignments to expect the type of blocks I’m getting, where the ball is going and keys if the back is leaking for a pass route.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I’m a versatile player and quick learner. I’ve had 3 different defensive coordinators and 4 position coaches. With each coach I’ve had to develop different aspects of my game that has made me a better player. In these different defensive schemes I’ve had to learn and play multiple positions including, DE, DT, NG, and outside linebacker. Learning multiple positions and excelling in them has benefitted me with the ability to play all over the field and be easily adaptable to different defensive schemes.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My off-season plan is to develop myself as not only a pass rusher but also an outside linebacker. Having the ability to drop in coverage, and rush the passer will open if bigger avenues that many NFL teams will notice. I also plan on working with former NFL coaches to increase my football IQ and terminology that would make me more of a diverse player that could adapt easily being put on any team. I also don’t believe there is an off season. Always working on my craft.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I will be able to provide versatility, being able to rush the passer from multiple positions. I’m also a fast physical player. I’ve demonstrated the ability to chase down plays on the opposite side of the field as well as chase receivers down the field. I mentally prepare every week for every aspect of the game. My off the field behavior and character is equally important to my on the field preparation as I would never want to be a negative impactor. I care and strive to protect myself, my team, and my village of supporters at all times by not being a negative disruptor and going against what I stand for.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I give my all with everything regardless of the audience. I’m here to work hard, learn and would love an opportunity to showcase my talent and abilities at the next level. I’ve never failed as each opportunity I’ve gained more than I lost. I lead by example and focus on optimism even in adverse situations. I’ve been blessed to work with an array of coaches each of whom provided me the benefit of having to learn and play multiple positions. Regardless of life’s challenges, on and off the field, my main commitment and objective remains the same, learn, study and succeed wherever opportunities take you.
