Tropical Bowl 2017 Spotlight: Brandyn Bartlett

Brandyn Bartlett finished his career at Tusculum with 192 tackles, with his best season amassing 94 tackles, two tackles for a loss, one pass breakup, and three forced fumbles. He posted double digit tackles on five occasions in 2015. Bartlett has been named both All-Region and All-Conference in his three years as a Pioneer and looks to continue his success at the next level.

Q: How have you been preparing for the game on Sunday?

Brandyn: I’ve started my pro day training along with getting back healthy from the season. I also have taken in all the coaching from the great coaching staff we have here working with us in Daytona this weekend.

Q: If you were talking with a scout, how would you pitch yourself?

Brandyn: The typical answer is hard work, but I would explain to them the grind that it is to be at a smaller school and the hard work it takes. A lot of smaller school guys are excelling in the NFL than the 4 and 5 stars out of high school. You also can’t teach heart and hustle, I bring that to the table.

Q: Why did you decide to play in the Tropical Bowl and what do you expect to get out of it?

Brandyn: I decided to play in the FBS Tropical Bowl because it is a great opportunity to get out in front of scouts and compete and hold my own against some of the best players in college football today.

Q: What is your best memory playing football?

Brandyn: Best memory playing football would be beating Carson Newman our rival this season in OT.

Look for Brandyn Bartlett on January 15th in the Tropical Bowl. He will be wearing #8 on the American White team coached by Todd Littlejohn.
