Trevon Saunders: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Trevon Saunders
School: Urbana University
Position: Wide Receiver/Return Specialist
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 165

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

Some of my goals were, as a team we have not had a chance to play in the playoffs in years, so I would of liked to experience that. Stats would have to be there if we made it there, I will not lie, I was close to a school record, so I wanted to break that.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Hard-nose, tough, and explosive.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I have two places that I go. 11 Athletics and Milan Smith helps me with most of my nutrition. We work on speed agility, strength, and explosion. Nutrition is big on gaining weight the right way.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

When watching film, I tend to look for the tendencies of myself and seeing what I can correct. Also the Corners, Linebackers, and most importantly the Safety. The safety alignment will tell you what coverage the defense is in. I even watch for how the defenders tend to cover, do they lunge on jams, are they patient, and how their foot work is.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

My desire. Never taking no for an answer. My ability to turn on a dime. Ability to hand catch or body catch and knowing when to do it. Ability to run every rout on the route tree.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I’m a leader vocally and with my play. I will be young to the NFL. so I know there is so much I need to learn. I think knowing that also helps me be the best teammate I can possibly be.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

When you get Tre Saunders, you are going to get a football player that is a football player. I will give you 100% every time out on the field. At some point during every game, I will be do something that will make you notice me even if you are there to watch someone else. From early on, I’ve been told things I can’t do. I refuse to fail. I will be successful.
