What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I wanted to really assert my dominance this season and make my presence felt, the previous season of (2019) I made all conference honorable mention. Coming into my final season I ended up with a season high of 3 interceptions and finished with second team all conference.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I think this extra season really allowed me to find tune my game and really figure out my strengths/weaknesses on the field and where I needed to improve.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I am a player who is very coachable, hardworking, knows how to lead by example rather than being vocal. Knows how to make light out of every situation while maintaining a friendly personality.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film I really focus on the opponents #1 guy. What are his tendencies? Is he someone who has an edge or is he only active when the ball is coming his way? Does he make all his routes look the same? Also I try to focus on what kind of person the offensive coordinator is. Especially if he is a repeater when it comes to plays that work.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The one thing that I think separates me the most from guys at my position is that I’m very versatile, I can play man or zone. I can give you a press look, off man, or catch technique. I have the ability to play from the slot and I use my size and technique to my advantage on the field.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My off-season plan includes working with both my weights and field trainers 4 times throughout the week while I’m home and during the rest of the semester I will be working on my speed and mobility this track season.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My ability to be calm and collected. Having clear judgement skills will allow me to make the best choices on and off the field. Also my likable character and charm along with great manners would be viewed as valuable strengths that I feel will be very good for any teams image.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I’ve dedicated my entire life to playing football and along the way I’ve gained insight and learned a-lot about myself. I may not pass the recruiter eye candy test but deep down I know that I’m a baller. I’m here to show the world and myself that I have what it takes to play in this league for a long time and bring hope for all the kids who were no star recruits attending small schools that anything is possible.
