Name: Tamar Heart-Wilkins
School: Olivet College
Position: LB/DE

Height: 6’1”
Weight: 230

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

To have a better season and be more competitive as a unit. Even though I was Defensive player of the year last year it came in a losing season and that is still disappointing.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

It allowed me to get some extra work, put extra film on tape last year and this year. Really just improving my craft and mastering linebacker as well as defensive end. Even though some teams may consider me a great edge rusher.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

A player who plays with great intensity, has a great motor, explosive, a brother to my team and very coachable. They also will tell you that I’m a great leader and someone who never gives up on a play until the final whistle. I will leave everything I have out on the field and my brothers and coaches would second that as well.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When watching film there are a lot of things I look at. The first thing it i try to figure out what are the top 4-5 plays that a team run the most and what the down and distance it when those plays are called.Secondly, I look to see what formation they are running those plays out of. After figuring out the teams tendencies I start to key in on the player in front of me every snap, I’m looking to see if there are any signs that will tell me run from pass. Maybe he looks at the whole a couple times or maybe more pressure on his front hand when they are running. Just a lot of little things that are habits because that means that they will always be there when a player gets fatigued.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

The first thing that separates me is that my game isn’t all all athleticism. I approach the game making sure so am in the right head space to adapt and adjust to anything because I know the game rarely happens the way we practiced it all week. Not to mention my ability to get to the QB and simultaneously contain the run.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My goal for the off-season is to get faster and stay sharp. Making sure I’m ready for any opportunity that’s thrown at me. I also want to lose about 10 pounds of fat and turn it into muscle to play around 220. Last but not least, I want to continue pursuing the opportunities to showcase my skills and freakish athleticism.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I feel my work ethic, passion for the game , decision making and character will serves the team and myself well on and off the field when it comes to just football and live as a whole. I feel that the hunger that I have to be the best version of myself is something that could inspire others to do the same no matter the age.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

My final pitch to the NFL Or any other pro leagues is that I am very dedicated to this game. I am also a quick learner, no one is more committed to getting better at their craft everyday than I am. I am always the first person in to work and the last person clocking out. I feel that my stats speak for themselves even against a double team every night and occasionally triple teams I was always able to produce game in and game out. I feel that I would be a great asset to any team in anyway that I am used. I also feel that I am a person that could come right into any team and make an impact right away. Anyone who watches a game from me live or even just a full game on film would be blown away. Blown away at just my ability and effort on every play that I am on the field.
