Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

​As always, I wanted to finish the year with a ring and go out with a championship. I also wanted to make All-Conference and leave a legacy at my institution. Lastly, I wanted to mold and take one player under my wing to take my spot after my departure.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Passionate
Aggressive
Relentless

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

​I will train daily as I’ve been doing with lifting as well as field work and making sure I’m taking care of my body in the trainers with recovery techniques.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for little tendencies first and foremost, Quarterback then Offensive Line. Down and distance, favorite plays, and personnel is also definitely an emphasis of mine.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

​I would say how passionate I am about what I’m doing, how hard I am on myself, and my relentless motor.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

​Leadership, I’m a natural leader and no matter the age of my peers I will be able to uplift them somehow. Athletically, I will bring a player with a relentless motor that gives optimal effort play in and play out.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

​If you are looking for an athletic Linebacker who can run sideline to sideline, isn’t afraid to stick his nose in their with lineman, has a relentless motor, and gives optimal effort, STEVEN SMITH JR is who you need.
