Shaun Browder: 2023 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Shaun Browder
School: Kansas Wesleyan university
Position: S/Nickel
Height: 5-9
Weight: 195

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The top 3 goals I set for my final season where to lead the defensive back room safety and corners ending up #2 in the nation for passing yards allowed but not only on the field but in the meeting room (film). Another goal was to win a ring again this season unfortunately we fell short. And earn all conference.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I am a true leader, smart and very physical.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I watch WRs get offs, if they’re running off the line or if they’re the lazy type. I watch the tackles and guards stance sometimes, those are major pointers if it’s a pass or run. I also a watch every play and I’ll call out a possible defense we could be in just to get a picture on how I’ll play it.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

With me not being the tallest or the fastest, I let my IQ separate me. I’m very smart on and off the field. I watch a ton of film being able to be a step ahead in the film room always make me play at a such a higher level. I’m also very vocal, you’ll hear my communication all way in the press box. Lastly, my versatility being able to cover in the slot, come down play and the box and I’m able to be that deep high Safety who’s going to make a play.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My off season plan is to work on my speed, but training is something that’s nothing new for me coming from a smaller school I have to be the best at my position.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Being able to communicate and connect with others. My willingness to be better, everyone doesn’t always want to be better, I feel it’s always more room for improvement with anything on and off the field.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

If you guys want somebody willing to come in and go straight to work, I’m your guy. If you guys need somebody who loves to compete, I’m your guy. Don’t let my height push you away, turn on the film it speaks for its self.
