Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

One of my goals was to be an impact player for my team and perform well as a role player.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Explosive, Tenacious, and Twitchy.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I was planning on attending Winners Circle Athletics to work on my 40, after I play in the Tropical Bowl, as well as continuing my HIIT cardio up a mountain in my hometown known as Mt. Rubidoux. I will be putting in extra time in the weight room as well. I’m hitting 20 reps of 225 so far, so I’m positive I can add a lot more to that between now and my pro day.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for tendencies and backfield formations that can give me the pre-snap reads that I need to see in order for me to anticipate what’s coming. Such as a Guard being set further back than the Tackle to make it easier for him to pull. I always keep in mind on where the Running Backs are aligned so I know if I’ll get inside, outside, or divide/split zone. Also, if I’m going get a 1 on 1 pass set with the Offensive Tackle and even how the protection is going to slide, whether it’s a 3 quarters slide or half slide protection.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

In terms of being a role player, I like to fancy myself as a true pass rusher. When I’m in a 3rd down or one minute drill situation, I have always came up clutch in those types of situations. No one can really explain how I get the sack because I usually get it when it’s needed. I don’t think it’s ever coincidence though, I know my situations.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I believe I’m versatile as an edge rusher, my track background allows me to run with guys on special teams. I played offensive line in high school, so I have experience in being an effective blocker. I’ve been coached by some of the best in my JUCO days. I just feel really polished for this business since I’ve been doing it for so long, it’s second nature to me, especially when I’m called upon once a pass rush is needed. I retain knowledge pretty well, so as I grow into being a veteran, I feel really good about leading younger players along. I will be a father soon as well, so I hope I can be a positive role model to the youth no matter where I land. It doesn’t matter, community service, or whatever it takes. I want to help people move in a positive direction in their lives.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I understand that it is a business and that I will be representing a brand and a logo as well as the pride and integrity of any organization I may end up at. Whether it’s playing a small role on defense rushing the passer or on any special teams unit, I can hustle and get after it and prove that I fit the mold.
