I set team goals to win conference and make playoffs as well as personal goals to make all conference and be a team captain. As a team we did not accomplish our goals but personally I accomplished both goals.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I actually did not use my extra year. I feel now is the best time for me to pursue the professional route and I know I am ready for the next level.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My teammates and coaches would say I am very passionate and a reliable player. I would say they would describe me as a leader as well as a team players as they know I would do what it takes for us to get a win. I am someone who will always do my job and give effort regardless of the outcome.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

This past season I focused a lot on the way teams would scheme against certain looks. For instance if they were given a 2 high look I would focus on route combos they like to run in order to disguise our defense most effectively and bait the QB into a throw he doesn’t want. That, along with tendencies on certain downs and where on the field they like to do certain schemes In order to anticipate and see the play before it happens.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I am a student of the game. Since the age of 9 years old I was studying football with my older brother who was playing in college and I believe I understand the ins and outs of defenses as well as offenses. Not only that but I am a leader and every program I have stepped into I have accepted that role as well.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I have been working with my position coach at West Texas and I am on a strength training and speed program with a facility known as contagion athletics in Amarillo. I decided to stay in Amarillo in order to graduate this next semester and get my degree.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I see my self as a social chameleon, and what I mean by that is I have always been able to relate to people from all backgrounds. Not only is that important in being able to build relationships with my teammates but I also have a tremendous work ethic. These two aspect are things that I believe are key in earning the respect of my teammates. I have always been overlooked starting in high school and it forced me to develop and attitude to work hard and push myself to my limits. I believe with my work ethic and mindset I can be an asset to any team who decides to make me a part of their organization.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Growing up I have never had anything handed to me or come easy. I worked and grinded my whole life and I have put in the time to not only excel in athletics but off the field as well. By adding me to your team you will be gaining a player with a great work ethic, knowledge of the game as well as an athlete who will come in and compete for a starting job immediately.
