Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My goals for my senior year were to be a true force and a leader up front. I wanted to show that I could shut down the run at the line of scrimmage and be a disruptive playmaker in the opposing back field. I do feel that I earned the respect from teammates and that they were able to lean on me when times got tough. I feel as though I accomplished this by coming in everyday with a mindset to continue to grow and develop. I felt like I continued to progress during the season and look forward to further developing my skills and leadership.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would describe me as a fierce competitor and an influential teammate because of my attitude and infectious spirit. Coaches and teammates would say I am very reliable and selfless (as nose guards have to be) and will never give up on a play. I am player they would always want on the field.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film I start broad and then get more specific. First I gauge the formation, backfield set and tight end and I attach the associated plays with the formations. This way I can pick up on what’s possibly coming in the game, communicate with my teammates, and capitalize. After that I key in on my opposing guards and center. I take note of their strengths and weaknesses to see where I can gain an advantage. In addition, I try to memorize mannerisms and small giveaways to see which path/block they are looking to. I separate run from pass and practice as if I’m going against them all week physically on the field and mentally when away from the field.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My internal motor and drive with the ability to move quickly inside using my athleticism and large frame. I have the power and size to eat up gaps and stop the run along with explosive hands and feet to win quickly in the pass game. I credit my athleticism to playing tight end and basketball in High School. In addition I feel as though I am capable of getting to any spot on the field to make plays.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I have been grinding out here in Fresno, California with my trainers at Primetime Performance. I want to make sure my muscular endurance and running technique are as explosive as possible so I can put on a solid performance at my schools pro day. I constantly keep in contact with my former teammates in the NFL to get tips on how to prepare myself and what to do in order to maximize this time period.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My strengths and abilities that I will carry on the field with me to the next level is my strength, speed, explosive movement, quick hands and feet. Along with a desire and eagerness to learn and grow. I’m a great listener who teammates will say is honest and trustworthy that will represent a team with integrity and respect. I am a guy that will never bring negative attention but will be a beacon of positivity, perseverance, and pride.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

My final pitch to any team out there would be to give me an opportunity because I love the game of football, I love the competition, I love the fulfillment the game gives me physically, emotionally, spiritually. I would continue to work relentlessly at my craft and help teammates perfect there’s by giving every second all that I got.
