Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The goal I had this season was to build life long relationships, be an example to the younger guys, Win a national championship and to enjoy my last season with my teammates and do what we love to do. The goals I have accomplished- 1st team All Conference, and I am the 2 in all of college football in yards per catch. I managed to have 984 yards this season with only 40 catches.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates will say I am a great person on and off the field, and that I always want to talk about football learn more about the game. They will say how I bring them closer to God and try to show them that he’s the reason for the blessings. They can also explain that if there is something I need to improve that I will make it my priority to learn and fix it. My teammates and coaches can also say when I was freshman I didn’t really know what was going on but I looked up to the older guys and learned from them a took what I could to be a successful football player on and off the field. My teammates and coaches will say I work the hardest on and off the field, and that I watch a lot of film to improve my craft at all times. They call me Big Play Ray, because whenever the ball got to me I made big a play and that speaks a lot for itself.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I’m watching film I see it as playing chest on practice days and game days. I love to watch players throughout their season or career to see what techniques they like to play on certain downs or certain situations. I like to look for tendencies I can catch before or after a play to use to my advantage. I also love to see what the scheme is what’s the strengths and weaknesses to the scheme. How often they run things so I know what I can get in that situation. I look to watch how teams pursue to the ball or if they’re over pursuing for cutting lanes after I catch the ball. I love too watch my practice film because that’s where I try different techniques in my routes or blocking to use in a game rep. I also want to see how it looks so when I critique it I’m confident enough to use it when I need it.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from others is my faith in God and understanding that it’s a blessing to be able to the talent I have and the speed I have and knowing it’s all because of God. That’s truly where I get my faith and success from. Just knowing because I am spreading his word and obeying his words living how I’m suppose to the lord will bless me. Proverbs 3:1-8 this scripture says if you trust God with all your heart and not lean to your own understanding and obey him he will direct your paths for you and he’s been directing all of my paths including football. I also live in the facilities just either working out, taking care of my body, watching film and just learning everyday. And something about me, I always try to perfect my craft in the facilities and on the field as well.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I’m planning on training in Florida with Bommaritos in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Just still looking for an agent in the process that can assist me with these next few steps in my career. My plan is to work my usual hours in Bommaritos but on my free time work with my close friend Pete who is a receiver specialist in Fort Lauderdale. Just to sharpen up my craft and also add to my craft. I plan to keep learning, I feel like there is never a point where you stop learning. No matter how successful your career is there’s always room to improve and work.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Strengths I can bring to a team on the field is faith to the players in practice and games. Always giving positive criticism no matter the situation. And when getting the ball out to me making the play count. I also can receive criticism and learn from my mistakes and know that there’s always room for me to grow in this career no matter how good my stats are, I truly want to be one of the greatest of all time. For ability anything the team needs just doing my job at a high level. Strengths off the field spreading Gods word to people. My ability off the field is to have an 7on7 team to teach young athletes how to trust God through everything get closer to him and how to be good human beings. And just helping younger athletes get better with their techniques as well.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

That you will be hiring a God fearing man, that wants to spread God’s words and help others learn more about football and techniques. Someone who not only wants to be one of the best receivers in the NFL of all time but also that will not only work hard to accomplish this goal but also to do what’s best for the team.
