What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Before my Senior season I set the goal to be all-conference and to lead my team in sacks. Thankfully, I was able to achieve both of those goals during my last season.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I feel that taking advantage of my extra year of eligibility allowed for me to show what I am really capable of on the football field. I also think this extra year helped boost my confidence when I was playing. Having seen certain offenses and blocks multiple times in my career helped me play looser.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I think that my teammates would say that I’m a grinder and that I’m a physical passionate player. That I truly love the game and I left it all out there every time I stepped on the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Normally when I’m watching film on myself the first thing I pay attention to is my first step and hand placement. These two things are what make or break you on the DL so I think it’s important to focus on those things. Then watching film on another team I try to watch for lineman tendencies like their initial set and where their hands are, watching these things helps you know what to expect before you actually play.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I feel that my athleticism at my size mixed my strength are what help me separate myself from other prospects at my position.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I plan to continue to train with my Strength Coach Andre Bernardi at Furman. I know he is more than capable of preparing me for any opportunities to come.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I think that my on-field strengths are my IQ, my physicality, my quickness, my ability to change direction and my pass rushing ability inside. Then off the field, I would say that Leading by example is one of my strengths. My ability to face adversity and overcome whatever is thrown at me. Also my want to be involved in community improving programs and activities.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I would say that I love the game of football and I have played it since I was 7. That I want to win, any way possible. I am a role player and want to be apart of making a team better in way possible.
