Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Dakota: Tough play maker

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Dakota: I will be training at ESI in Pittsburgh with Cole Haley (One of the top sports performance training facilities around). I also have quarterback coaches training me Paul Failla and Kevin Mcabe, two former division 1 and NFL quarterbacks.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Dakota: I would compare myself to Dak Prescott. I really respect his game and I have a similar build and style of play. I try to emulate parts of my game from him and Russell Wilson. Two amazing quarterbacks and leaders

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Dakota: When studying film, I focus on weaknesses in the defense that we can exploit. I Try to determine what passing concepts will work best against the coverages we will be seeing. As well, I try to see what formation and plays will be most successful against the fronts we will see. I look at personnel and style of play of the opposing players to see where we have the best matchups. Lastly, I envision myself making plays against the defense we will be playing.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Dakota: I think the biggest thing that separates me from others at my position is, I was a former Division 1 linebacker at Arizona. This gives me a better understanding of how I can beat the opposing defense. Also, I have always been a football player first, I played multiple positions growing up and I try to use that to my advantage, whether it be throwing the ball, running the ball, or trying to get a lead block on a reverse. I just love the game and want to do whatever it takes to help the team win.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Dakota: I can add value to a team because of my versatility being able to throw the football and run. I understand how to get our offense in the best looks. Also, I am an athlete, so I will do whatever the team needs me to do, whether that be play another position or be an impact player on special teams. Off the field, I am a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, I give everything up to God, and I use that to help and lean on other athletes to grow my faith and help them grow theirs. I love to help others and be there for them in times of need and I love to give back to the community by volunteering in the community and to those less fortunate.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Dakota: I started at QB in 32 out of 32 games at West Liberty. I played in 10 games as a true freshman at Arizona. It doesn’t matter where I play or against who, I make plays when on the field. I can play a lot of different positions, but at QB I have tremendous up side. I switched back to QB after not playing it for 2 years and was an immediate starter and All-Conference selection. I just need a chance and opportunity and my ability will do the rest.
