NFL Draft 2017 Prospect: Tavian Lott

Name: Tavian Lott
College: East Tennessee State
Position: Cornerback
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 196

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Tavian: Smart, physical, and fast.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Tavian: The most important thing I will be doing is training my mindset, training my mind to be a professional. Of course I’ll be training position specific things and I’m also doing a new approach far taking care of my body, such as chiropractic care.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Tavian: I would say Malcom Butler, we’re from the same state, but I really feel like I’m traveling the same road as him. If you watch him play, you’ll see that he’s very competitive and that’s something I love to do, compete.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Tavian: I look for the formations, what routes they run off the formations, and what receivers run certain routes. I also look at splits and down and distance.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Tavian: It’s kind of hard to say because I’m a humbled guy. I’ll let my play do the talking, but I do have the biggest chip on my shoulder, I came from the bottom. I have nothing to lose and that’s what drives me and possibly separates me.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Tavian: On the field, I would bring whatever they asked of me, I would be ready for whatever. Ultimately I would want to bring leadership. Off the field, I would do whatever is asked or needed out of me.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Tavian: I was born in raised in D’lo, Mississippi. I’m 24 years of age right now and had passion for the game every since I was 6. Back in 2005, hurricane Katrina affected me and my family, my hometown was so small the government never heard of us so we were the last ones to get help. The only way I’m going back home is if I’m going back to give back. This is my chip on the shoulder, this is my motivation. For every reason I just stated are the same reasons why I will go hard everyday and will be able to do whatever is asked of me.
