Name: Lamont Brown
College: Morgan State
Position: Running Back
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 192

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Lamont: Patient, elusive, exciting.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Lamont: I’m going to give this my all. I know this is a tremendous opportunity and a chance for me to do what I love for a long time to come. In the next week or so, I’m going to be heading to a facility to train. I wanted to get my senior bowl out of the way before I left so I wouldn’t be doing a lot of unnecessary traveling.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Lamont: If I had to choose, it’d be Jamaal Charles. We’re both smaller backs, but have great hands out of the backfield and can make defenders miss.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Lamont: When I’m watching film, I look for tendencies. What blitzes the defense brings when they line up in certain formations, how D-linemen rush, how linebackers react to pass or run. Anything that can give me a slight advantage against the opponent.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Lamont: I feel like what separates me from other backs is my ability to catch out of the backfield, my ability to pickup blitzes and block, and my ability to turn a play that looks like it should be stopped in the backfield into a 2-3 yard gain.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Lamont: I feel like I can be an immediate asset on the field, whether it be in the backfield or in the return game. Off the field, I have done community service with my team such as visiting veterans, donating clothes to the less fortunate, and cleaning up the neighborhoods surrounding our school. I feel like my character and personality would give me a great chance to make an awesome first impression on a coach/GM etc.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Lamont: It’s not too often you find a player that recovers from back to back ACL surgeries (’14 & ’15) that will come back the following season and lead their team in rushing. I feel like I’ve proven that I can play on the biggest stage with players from any school or conference, if given a chance. I feel like I can be a tremendous asset to a team, and do my part in helping to win a lot of games in the future.
