NFL Draft 2017 Prospect: Daniel Chism

Name: Daniel Chism
College: Eastern Illinois University / and Benedictine University
Position: Nose Tackle
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 318

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Daniel: Power, Consistency, and Technique.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Daniel: Every since the end of my last season, I have been working hard and training everyday keeping my strength up, constantly working on my technique and footwork with the help of my trainer, Devon Finn. I have taken part in the Seattle Regional Combine and the ISU pro day in hope of getting noticed by NFL scouts. With months of training, hopefully it will be have been enough with the up coming draft around the corner.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Daniel: As of lately, I have been compared to Vince Wilfork with my size and how wide of a person I am. I personally think I am a mixture of Vince Wilfork and Nhdamukong Suh. with my size, I have the strength to clog up running lanes. I am also not afraid of running down bubble screens or jet sweeps. I am a very large man, but I like to operate with a little athleticism whether it’s running anywhere I have to on the field, batting down passes, along with my arsenal of pass rush moves.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Daniel: I like to focus on technique and my opposition tendencies. If I am able to find a flaw with the technique, I can use that to my advantage with practice of course. To me, it’s the little details that are important which can end up having a huge impact later on.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Daniel: I love working hard and having fun. I’m always aiming to get better everyday in every way; on or off the field. I never like to stay the same I was yesterday. I am either improving, or working really hard to improve myself. By the end of one of my training sessions, I’ll be dog tired because that’s how hard my trainer works me, but I will have a huge smile on my face because I know I am bettering myself.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Daniel: I am a very large and caring human being, but don’t let kindness off the field fool you. On the field I use my strength, power, technique, and my knowledge of the game to help me dominate my opposition. I like to play with consistency because its important to play at a high level for myself and for my teammates. I am also a great listener and learn new plays fairly easily.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Daniel: If any NFL team are in need of running lanes filled and someone to get to the quarterback, I’m your guy. With my size, strength, technique, consistency, and my passion for the game. I assure you, I am the perfect man for the job. Give me the opportunity, and you will not regret it.
