Name: Brian Khoury
College: Carnegie Mellon
Position: Defensive End, Linebacker, Special Teams, Long Snapper
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 240

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Brian: Focused, Determined, Relentless.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Brian: I did my combine prep and speed training at Total Performance in Wixom, MI. I do my strength and training at Barwis Methods in Plymouth, MI. I do position work with a former Michigan State player who bounced around with the Colts and Jaguars.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Brian: Rob Ninkovich. He is smart, dependable, versatile, consistent, and gets the job done.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Brian: Depending on the week and the game plan, I look for different things. My college coaching staff did a good job of breaking down tendencies of teams based on formation and personnel. That freed up time for me to focus on player and lineman tendencies such as footwork, pass protection sets, hand placement, and pre snap glances. Based on the game plan, I look for whatever is going to help win.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Brian: My love to complete and passion for the game. Playing at a Division 3 school without athletic scholarships, you have to be internally motivated to excel at football while earning an engineering degree. My experience playing junior hockey brings a certain mental toughness and maturity. During time as a fourth or fifth line player, every practice was a tryout to make the line-up for the weekend. The forty-five game season living away from home teaches you how to compete consistently despite the highs and lows over the season.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Brian: My preparation and determination. Football is what I am passionate about. Off the field, I am putting the right food in my body, getting sleep, handling my responsibilities, and minimizing distractions, so I am prepared to compete. During practices and games, if I am not doing the drill or taking the rep, I’m locked in taking mental reps, listening to coaches, and observing other players to find tricks to develop my game. I showed that during my college career and at all star games such as the FBS Tropical Bowl, D2/D3 National Bowl, and CDFL FCS Senior Bowl. My focus and intensity during drills at the New Orleans Regional Combine helped me stand out and get recognized by the Locker Report as a top performer.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Brian: As the draft closes, teams will be rounding out their free agency personnel and mini camp invites. Eventually teams are going to have to take a chance on a guy. If you take a chance on me, I will do everything I can to give you return on your investment.
