Name: Andre Adams
College: Arkansas-Monticello
Position: Cornerback/Free Safety
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 185

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Andre: Versatile, consistent, and fast.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Andre: I have been focusing primarily on transferring my speed and explosiveness into every drill that I do. When I work on position drills my focus is to eliminate any wasted movement and get in and out of my breaks as fast as possible.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Andre: As a free safety I would say I am very similar to Rodney McLeod. He plays bigger than his size, is a good tackler, and has the range to play over the top of everything. As a cornerback, I would compare myself to Joe Hayden. Joe Hayden is great at mirroring receivers, plays with the right amount of aggression and caution when in zone coverage, and puts himself in position to make plays.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Andre: The first thing I look at when studying film is the release and body language of the receivers. I try to get a good idea of what type of players I’m facing, that includes running backs and quarterbacks as well. Then, I study the concepts of the offense in every area of the field. You are able to play a lot faster when you understand what the offense is trying to do to you.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Andre: I would say my effort, and willingness to make tackles. Those are things that coaches can’t teach you.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Andre: My work ethic, positive attitude, and focus will stand out on and off the field.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Andre: If you pick me, you will be getting a versatile defensive back. I have experience covering tight ends, slot receivers, and outside receivers. I’ve spent the first three years of my collegiate career playing free safety. Over that time, I’ve learned how to be quick with reading run/pass keys and understanding what the offense was trying to do. My inexperience as a cornerback didn’t affect me much this past season as I was able to show good coverage skills. I’m willing to make plays on the run just as much as I am in the pass game. I’m the type of person who likes to lead by example, on and off the field. When I commit to something I put my all into it and look to outdo my competition.
