Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Most of my goals are considered “team goals”. Going into this past season, there was only one thing on my mind… Winning a National Championship. In order to get there however, you have to accomplish smaller goals throughout the season. (Getting better in practice every day, Going 1-0 every week, winning your conference championship, etc.). Those are the goals I focused on the most. As for personal goals, I don’t really focus on numbers as much as I do on getting better every day. I want to do whatever I can every week to help my team win. I want to make sure I know the game plan, the why’s about it, and how to execute it. If you focus on just improving every single day, I believe everything will take care of itself.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I am an unselfish/competitive/coachable player who is willing to do whatever the team needs him to do. I don’t carry an ego. I just put my head down and work. I expect greatness out of myself and am my own biggest critic.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I am studying film, I first try and figure out what kind of team we are playing. (Who are their players? What is their scheme? How do they try and attack opposing defenses?). Then you get more technical and in-depth.. (What are their tendencies? Do they have or do anything that’ll tip their hand? How do they try and get their playmakers the ball?). Then from there I am studying the guys that I’ll be going against. (What’s their strengths, weaknesses, tendencies, etc.?).
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My flexibility. I can and have played every position in the defensive backfield. I can play wherever you need me to play.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am training here in Orlando, FL at BetterEveryDay Performance Institute. It’s ran and owned by Trevor Anderson. I am working on getting stronger, faster, and more explosive. At the same time working and developing my craft.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My ability to fit and be drama free, i believe, is an important strength. A toxic person in a locker room can be detrimental to a team. On the field I pride myself on being dependent. I want my coaches to always be confident that I know what I am doing.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
All I need is an opportunity. Given that opportunity I will benefit and make your team better. I have been apart of 3 teams that have made it to the National Championship and 2 that have won it. I have been around championship caliber players and organizations.. I know what it takes. If you take a shot on me you’re getting a proven winner who’s focused on getting better every single day.
