Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Finishing my senior season healthy and making a run for the playoffs! As well as finishing with a bowl game at the end of our season.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I’m a well rounded athlete who competes at a high level. I’m a player you want around the locker room as well! And I’m one who can be held accountable.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Sometimes it’s not about the result of the play but the process of how you got to the result. I key in on my technique and my assignment each play. If I’m running the ball, making sure I’m reading the holes as I was coached to. If I’m blocking, making sure I’m looking at my pre snap reads and making sure they align with whatever my offensive line is calling.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I’ve been a competitor at a high level since I was 8 years old. 8x Junior Olympian in track and field from 9-12. My first football coach was Johnnie Johnson. College Football Hall of Fame Safety and First Round draft pick to the LA Rams. First Rams Player ever to get a million dollar contract. Duane Carlisle. Former Strength and Conditioning coach for the 49ers and long time trainer for Frank Gore has been another lifelong coach. I could go on but I’ve learned from the best in the business from the start of me playing football to now.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I will be training with Carlisle Performance Systems in Campbell, California.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My overall size for my position is on the bigger end of the spectrum which I’m fully aware of. I will bring all the advantages that a big RB comes with. Short yardage situations, blocking, mismatches with linebackers in the pass game, etc. I know I am well rounded and also have the IQ needed to help a team out in any given situation. Along with that, I’ve played special teams on every football team I’ve been apart at each level played. I love special teams! It’s honestly a free play since most people take it fore granted, and that’s when the most impactful plays are made in a game.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I’m ready to work and improve whatever team gives me the opportunity to. I won’t flinch. I’ve been preparing my entire life for this moment and I know what I’m capable of. I come from a winning culture/environment throughout my entire athletic career. Whichever team chooses Morian Walker will see success in their organization.
