Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
In my final year of college, I aimed to play quicker and more physically, have more fun, play with lower pad level, and win the whole conference. After missing a portion of my junior year due to a fractured hand, it was a fantastic thing to come back strongly, and I ended up being an all-conference and I had the best season of my career leading the team in sacks and second in TFL as a Defense Tackle.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My teammates and coaches would describe me as a team player, a leader, and someone who sets an example on the field with the way he plays, lifts, and carries himself. They’ll add that they’ll do it all with a smile on their face since playing football should be enjoyable.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch my film, I always pay attention to my first movement, the angle at which I strike my hands, and the force with which I shock and shed.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
Since I only played football for one year in high school and four in college without having any prior experience when I moved to the US from Senegal in Africa to become a basketball player, it is my capacity to learn quickly and apply it to my craft so I can be better. I like to think of myself as a sponge, and I’m constantly eager to learn new things and apply them to my life and work to help my family and my country. I had to learn English as my third language when I first arrived in the US, but I had to adjust quickly enough to finish high school, so I consider myself to be a quick learner.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
While I have two classes to take in order to earn my master’s in Mechatronics of Engineering in May, my offseason plan calls for me to work out twice a day, Monday through Friday, and in the morning on Saturday. I also have a great conversation with a former player’s agent, so I’m working hard every day to prepare for pro day and beyond.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I’ll bring my explosiveness, my ability to play defense tackle and defense end, my pride-inducing ability to stop the run, my ability to switch to passing, and the willingness to make honest mistakes so that my coach can step take me where I can’t take myself. I also enjoy having fun and making others happy since, as football players, we occasionally need that in our lives. Being able to give back to the community is something I value because, as an African, I wish I had someone do that for me when I was younger.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My name is Momar Fall, and although the odds have always been stacked against me, this has only served to motivate me to excel and be the greatest in all I do. I succeeded in doing it with basketball, soccer, and I’m trying with all that I have with football. I simply need one chance to support my family and everyone from Africa who depends on my achievement. In the field, during workouts, and in meetings, I will give everything I have and then some to show up and show out.
