What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
For my final season my number one goal was to help my team finally reach a bowl game, it happened in unorthodox fashion when we were chosen to play in the Gator bowl.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would describe me as an extremely hard worker, a smart and intelligent football player, and a selfless teammate. They’d also mention how I am physically and mentally tough.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I study film I’m always looking to improve no matter what it is. Every fine detail matters especially when you’re going up against good competition every week. I study my stance, pad level, eye discipline, get off, and hand usage every single play. Every opponent I face I focus on their tendencies, stance, and things they give away in the run/pass game. If you pick up on the little things film you recognize it in game time and things slow down for you.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other prospects at my position is my experience and versatility. I have played in 45 career games and have gone against NFL talent on a weekly basis. I have also played multiple positions in multiple fronts/schemes. I’ve played end in a 4-3, end in a 3-4, and OLB in a 3-4, I’ve rushed inside from a 3 technique as well. Not many defensive ends can say they’ve played in multiple defenses throughout their career which I believe gives me an edge.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
For this off season I have been training at TEST sports academy in martinsville NJ to prepare for the draft. They have done an awesome job preparing me for pro day and transforming my body.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths and abilities I will bring to a team will only benefit the organization I’m in. I’m a guy that can play multiple positions. Whether it be linebacker, defensive end, special teams I will excel wherever they put me. I’m a locker room player that will live the teams culture as well as enforce it. Off the field I am very involved in the community. I enjoy giving back and paying it forward to those who were once like me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My final pitch to teams is that if you want a guy who’s tough, versatile, and instinctual then I’m your guy. I will earn everything I want through my work ethic and passion for the game. I’m a guy who loves the game of football and it pushes me to be my best. You will see that out of me in all aspects of my preparation for the game.
