MORE: HIGHLIGHTS | WILLIAM JEWELL FOOTBALL

Q: How exciting was National Signing Day for you? What did you do?

A: NSD was a huge day for me and my teammates, it solidified the step we were taking to play at the next level.

Q: What made you ultimately sign with William Jewell?

A: The reasons I signed with William Jewell are that it’s close to home, great academics, and we play in a competitive conference at the division 2 level. It was everything I was looking for in a college.

Q: What other schools were you looking at?

A: Some other schools I was considering were Quincy University, Benedictine College, Peru State College, and some others.

Q: How will it feel to play college ball in your home state?

A: Playing collegiate football in my home state will be a great opportunity to have my family and friends continue to watch me at the next level.

Q: Are you ready to make the transition from high school to college?

A: I’ve been preparing to transition since my high school season ended, I’m nervous for the road ahead, but confident that I will be able to make a difference at my new school.

Q: How would you describe your style of play?

A: My style of play is a rough and consistent type of play. You can rely on me to get the job done and get it done well. I enjoy pass blocking, but run blocking is my favorite, especially zone and counter.

Q: What is the biggest asset you will bring to the Cardinals?

A: I think I can bring leadership and accountability to the Cardinals. As a freshman, there’s a lot of limits on what you can do to benefit the program so it starts with the little things sometimes such as setting examples for your friends and teammates.

Q: As an offensive lineman, how much do you love to hit people?

A: As an offensive lineman, all we do is hit people! In my opinion the line is the most physical and important position.

Q: Would you rather have a huge pancake block, or a normal one that gets your running back a first down, why?

A: To me, the team is first. It’s always fun to have a highlight block, but in the scheme of things, our job isn’t to slam people into the dirt it’s all about setting our backs and QB up for success.

Q: What are your thoughts on the term “Big Ugly” given to players at your position?

A: I’m proud of the name, it gives us a chip on our shoulder and it shows how tough the position is, that it gets pretty ugly sometimes.

Q: What are your goals this season as a player?

A: My goals are ultimately to see the field as a freshman. That’s what we all hope, some of us redshirt but we all usually have that as a goal
