Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals I set for myself this season were to lead more, make it to the championship and continue to the playoffs. I believe I stepped up more as a leader on and off the field with my work ethic, persistence to perform and execution of being a well rounded athlete. The second goal was to make it to the championship and continue to the playoffs, but unfortunately this didn’t go as planned. We may have lost the championship but we gained strength to get back up and fight again.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say I love to compete, I’m hardworking, optimistic, and I keep a smile on my face no matter what the situation is.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I focus on the first and second levels because that’s who I mainly go up against. So I pay attention to tendency breakers, what’s their go to coverages and fronts. if the defense likes to blitz, what exactly do they do differently.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me is that I’m going to work no matter what. I walked on at Albany State University and worked my way up from a walk-on, to playing on scout team and earned the starting spot to years later a prospect in the upcoming draft. I know what it takes to be great and I’m open to learning any and everything from the vets around me.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
This offseason my plans were to train at PrimeTime Fitness in Albany Ga, working on my speed, strength and explosiveness to prepare for my upcoming pro days.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
On the field I’m a 3 down back, I can block, catch and run the ball. I know how to read the defense so I can protect my quarterback. I can get on special teams and do what’s needed of me. Off the field I help and teach younger athletes in the local community different skills that will make them overall better athletes. I train almost everyday to improve my craft and performance, but most importantly I spend time with my family and friends no matter how busy my schedule is, I can never be too busy to talk to God or for the people I care about.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
All I need is a chance, just allow me to get my foot in the door and I’m gonna take care of everything else after that. I have no problem with working, I’ve been working my tail off my whole life and that’s because my ”IT” is bigger than me. I’m not doing this just for myself I’m doing this for my late father, my mother, my siblings, my girlfriend and my city most of all. I wanna make it out so I can show the kids back home that anything is possible when you strive for greatness, I just wanna make sure my family wants for nothing.
