Logan Larson: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Logan Larson
School: Tight End
Position: Southeast Missouri State
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 250

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

As a team, our goal was to win the OVC and come together as a closer team. Individually, I wanted to have my best year after missing the 2016 season from hip surgery.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Fast, physical, and relentless.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I am training at home and with my trainer Jordan Burdue in Perrysburg, Ohio. I spend a lot of time recovering with cryotherapy, recovery boots, and other techniques from the chiropractor. I lift heavy 4 times a week, plyometrics twice a week, Speed training every day along with football skill training and rest on Sundays.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Since I want to be a coach after my football career, I watch every aspect of the game. As I’m preparing for a game, I watch my opponent to see how they like to play and the moves they like to use in certain situations and use that to my advantage to be prepared for that. I also watch the defense’s tendencies in down and distance situations and personnels to be ready for Defensive Line slants and blitzes.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I feel that I am the most all around at my position. I love to block and take a lot of pride in my blocking and finishing to the ground and to the whistle every play all game. In the pass game, I run routes using my size and speed to get open, and playing a lot of basketball in my career has taught me how to use my body on conflict catches.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a big “process” guy so leadership and accountability is very big to me. I want to hold my teammates accountable for our actions on and off the field so we can put ourselves in a position to be successful as a team.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I’m not asking for any guaranteed money or a huge contract. I’m just hoping to get an opportunity to show that you made the right decision on what I am able to do on the field and how I can make a team better.
