Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
To be more explosive in different aspects of the game as far as running and catching passes out of the backfield. To be more patient and understand different situations between runs.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
I’m very hard working, takes cares business on and off the field, and a play maker and spark against opposing defenses.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
From a defensive standpoint, them against me, you want to watch how the LB flow and how down hill they are. Being able to run off noses and the shades of different defenses is critical for the RB position, especially when running inside zone. You have to be able to read blocks and notice how others teams defensive lineman and LBs take on and get off blocks. As a running back the biggest focus is alignment and assignment. As easy as it may sounds, it is very challenging but once you get the concept of how much it’ll improve your game you’ll take pride in that and become a better runner.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
My knowledge, patience, low center gravity and strength and power that I can bring to game if put in the right system. The biggest key for the RB position is finding a flow or feel for the right type of offense that’s fits you. You also have to be on the same page with your offensive lineman because they are the guys that determine how explosive you could be as RB. Also make sure you give the big guys up front credit because without them you are nothing as a RB no matter how good you are.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
As of right now I’m training as hard and smart as I can because everything is about technique on pro days. Technique, focus, and having fun will eliminate bad times on pro day. Just got to understand that everyone are normal people just like myself and more importantly be myself and smile.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Being a leader and having fun within the rules of the game. Great teammate, always positive and will see the good in most bad situations.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Doesn’t matter which league I end of playing in. I just want to have fun playing the game that I love, that teaches me how to make it in life, and be an inspiration to my hometown, so that the youth and people there will understand that if you would just keep praying and working hard at your dreams no matter how long it take, there will always be a great outcome.
