Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Going into my final season I set both personal and team goals to accomplish. In my opinion goals for a collegiate team should always include winning a conference and national championship, which we sadly fell short of this year. My personal goals on the other hand were statistically and award driven. I was able to hit quite a few of my statistical goals including 5+ interceptions, 50+ tackles, a defensive touchdown, etc. My award driven goals were also achieved being recognized as an All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American player.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I believe my coaches and teammates would say I’m a leader and respected player on and off the field. Fighting through adversity and motivating fellow players is a big part of my leadership style.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film I usually focus on looking at every personnel grouping and offense runs and then using those personnels to find play tendencies. Knowing play tendencies helps me play faster on game day. Once play tendencies are known then I can look at player tendencies and see QB snap indicator, WR releases, and also OL pass set/run block keys.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other in my position is probably my mindset and knowledge of the game of football. I can take concepts and apply them on the field very quickly.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My offseason plan to continue to gain speed and strength through personal training and on field work.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Strengths I bring on and off the field are dedication and intelligence. Football has always been a physical/violent game which has always drawn me toward the sport, but over the years it has transformed even more into a game off knowledge knowing offensive and defensive schemes to be successful. This dedication and intelligence is a strength I have and will provide that to a professional team.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My final pitch to scouts/teams: Chances make Champions…and if any team takes a chance on me a champion on and off the field is what they will find.
