What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
In my final collegiate season, I wanted to become an All-American and a national champion. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to achieve those goals. I did earn All-Conference honors for the second time.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I think I took advantage of my final season by just playing the game the way it was supposed to be played. I played at a high level and was able to help the team win games.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say I’m a hard worker, dedicated, dependable, and a leader.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film, I like to focus on my matchup, tendencies, flow of the game, and what it is that I can improve on to be able to be dominant in the game.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other players in my position is being able to play any position on the defense effectively. I’ve played every position on the defensive side of the ball and any team that takes a chance on me is getting somebody that can truly play anywhere and be effective.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My off-season plan to prepare for professional opportunities are to improve on my pass rushing toolbox, my strength, my speed, and coverage.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths that I would bring to a team on the field would be to provide depth to any position in need and play the game and the position the way it is supposed to be played. Off the field I want to give back to the community. I want to be a voice and a mentor to the younger generation and show people that you can reach your dreams regardless of where you come from and adversity that you’ve been through.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Any team that takes a chance on me is getting a guy that doesn’t play the game for the money. I play this game because it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do in my life. I genuinely love the game of football and what it has provided me through the years. I will give everything I have for the opportunity to be a professional football player. I will work my tail off to be the best player I can be. That team is also getting a player that can and will be able to truly to do whatever it is that the team needs me to do.
