Name: Kamau Dumas
School: Monmouth University
Position: Cornerback/Return Specialist
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 185

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My main goal heading into my final season was to win the Big South Conference Championship and be selected to the All-Conference First team. We went 9-2 in the regular season, and made it to the championship, but lost. We did have the opportunity to play in the FCS playoff though, which was a great experience. I also reached my goal of being First team All-Conference.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Passionate, explosive, competitive.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Right now I am training with Inception Sports Performance. They are a training facility located in North Jersey where I live. I am being trained by former Defensive Backs and Super Bowl Champs Kevin Dockery and RJ Cobbs.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

When studying film, I look for tendencies and areas where I can exploit the opposing team and make big plays. I look at Receiver’s releases or what they like to do in different situational downs. In the return game, I look for areas where there may be a weakness in the coverage that will allow me to get loose.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players in my position is my versatility. I can cover inside or outside and feel as if my quickness and speed helps allow me to make plays. I also play all Special Teams and can be a major contributor in that aspect of the game.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The strengths and abilities that I will bring to a team both on an off the field is hard work ethic and leadership. I put in a lot of time to perfect my craft and sharpen up my overall skills as a player. I also bring a positive attitude to whatever it is I am asked to do.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I have a huge amount of love for this game and I am a player who can impact in multiple ways. I have good character and I am very coachable. I am a player who is going to give 100% to make the play for my teammates. I am confident in the preparation and work that I put into getting better, and with God I will continue to improve as a player.
