Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Some personal goals that I set for myself this season was to be one of the leaders on the team as well as a team captain. I also wanted more yards after a catch and also putting myself in better positions to score more touchdowns. As a team, I wanted to make the playoffs and win our conference, all of which were accomplished.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
As a player my teammates and coaches would say that I am very determined and a hardworking individual. They would also say that I display a lot of maturity and respect along with showcasing my leadership skills. Another notable trait they would acknowledge is that I work well under pressure which has helped me overcome a lot of obstacles on and off the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film, the first thing I look for are the mistakes I may have made during practices or games. Once I have found the mistakes made I come up with solutions for whatever the situation is. I will then look at certain techniques that I can hone in on to improve whether that be releases, route running, or blocking.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The biggest thing that separates me from other pro prospects at my position is that I am very savvy. I understand leverages and coverages well to know what I am looking for when running through plays. I can also learn offenses very well by learning signals, play calls, etc. to make sure I do my job correctly 100% of the time. I can also adapt to different situations to ensure that I am playing to the best of my abilities to help benefit my team.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I plan on improving on my skills that I struggled with. I will be training agility, speed, and also mobility to be able to perform at a high level. While doing this, I will also be consulting with a previous NFL player to help better my technique and understanding from a DB stand point.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Some strengths that I have is that I will make sure that the team is always doing the right things on and off the field. Using my leadership skills I will make sure that the team keeps a focused mind allowing us to achieve the goals made for the team. I will also display a good work ethic that the team can build off of, for example, finishing through drills on the field and also making sure to keep up with my daily lifts in the weight room.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Having me on your team, you will have a person who will always give 100%, while also putting in the time and work necessary to improve my craft. It is easy to find someone that has the physical attributes that make an ideal player, but it is hard to find someone who has the mentality and determination necessary to succeed. I have both of these attributes that I know would make a large impact on any team.
