Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
For the season, my ultimate goal was to have double digit touchdowns and over 1,000 receiving yards. With help from my coaches and teammates I was able to accomplish that goal with 11 touchdowns and 1,209 yards for the season.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
My final year as a college athlete I was able to reflect on my previous years of victories and downfalls. My journey has allowed me to mature as a man and player. I feel more focused and determined as ever.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I’m hopeful that my teammates and coaches see me not only as a very talented player that’s able to step up in high pressure moments, but also appreciate me for my passion and knowledge for the game of football.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When watching film I like to use that time to not just critique myself, but watch defense and learn their coverage. I study the defensive backs to find tell-tale signs to gain an advantage against them.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
When comparing myself to other prospects I like to think of my age not as a negative, but as a positive— I feel my years of experience have given me more wisdom. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many different coaches and players. I’ve been able to combine all of the knowledge they’ve given me and it’s formed me into the player that I am today.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Off season I’m going to train every day. Ensure that my body stays ready for any opportunity that comes my way.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
One of my biggest strengths in football is my ability to make key plays in high pressure moments. I take pride in bringing that confidence to my teammates and coaches. In my opinion, in order to perform well on the field it’s crucial to have a strong relationship with your teammates by supporting each other mentally, physically, and emotionally. I strive to bring energy to the team to create those bonds on and off the field.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I have a extensive history with the game of football. My passion for the game is what keeps me driven, but my talent and resilience is why I know I deserve a chance. Every team I’ve been apart of I’m able to exceed expectations as a player. I’m always looking for ways to grow and improve my game. I’m very confident that I will continue to exceed any expectations wherever I am given the opportunity.
