Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My goals heading into my final season we’re to continue to become more consistent and increase my hang time on punts because that’s what the NFL looks for. I also wanted to get 1st team all-MAC again and be a finalist for the Ray Guy award.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Versatile (in doing different types of punting, because I did multiple styles in college), adaptable (I’ve played in about every type of weather you can play in), and self-confidence (I believe I have the abilities to do whatever a team may need of me).

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I have been doing fast movement and explosive workouts because that’s a lot of what punting is; leg speed and explosiveness up and through the ball. As far as punting, I have been working heavily on directional punting and getting more consistent putting the ball outside of the numbers every time.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

When watching film, I look at the type of return team they are, if anyone stands out as a major threat to block a punt, and especially look at the returner. If there is anything he has trouble catching, if he gets nervous when guys are in his face, how he judges the ball, etc.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I think my athletic ability and versatility in having multiple styles of punting, my size, and my leg strength.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Leadership by both action and vocals. I have been on teams that have been very successful, but I have also been on teams that have struggled tremendously, so I am able to keep everyone level headed, no matter the situation of the team. I think my multiple punting abilities can also bring a team what they need to be successful in the special teams phase of the game.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I believe my work ethic and motivation is superior. I will do whatever it takes to help the team succeed and will never stop at “good enough” because I know deep down the sky is the limit to where I can go.
